Travelling From Singapore To JB Sentral (By Bus)

There are a few bus operator in Singapore for you to choose from if you are thinking travel to Malaysia. To name a few, there are SBS Transit, Causeway Link, and also SMRT. The trip may takes from 40 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the traffic conditions.

Bus No. 170X will charge you for S$1.39, and is available at every 5 – 13 minutes starting from 5.36 am to 11.30 pm daily. While for Bus No. 160, the fare is priced at S$1.81, available every 8 – 17 minutes since 5.30 am to 12 am daily.

2. Causeway Link

While for Causeway Link buses, there are also a few pick up point. Bus No. CW1 picks you up at Kranji MRT Singapore and brings you to Larkin Bus Terminal JB. If you are travelling from Kranji MRT Singapore, the fare is priced at S$1.50 and is available every 15-30 minutes. If you are travelling from Johor Bahru Custom, the fare will be at RM1.90 and is available every 15-30 minutes.

While for Bus No. CW2, the pick up point is at Queen Street Bus Terminal, Singapore. Travelling from here to Larkin Bus Terminal JB will cost you S$3.30, and is available every 15-30 minutes. If you are travelling from Johor Bahru Custom, the fare will be at RM3.40, also available every 15-30 minutes.

Lastly, Bus No. CW5 travel you from Newton Circus to Johor Bahru Custom. The fare from Newton Circus will cost you S$3.30, while you will be charged for S$3.40 if you are travelling at the opposite way. The bus is available every 15-30 minutes.

3. SMRT

For SMRT, the bus is Bus No. 950. This bus take the routes from Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange to JB Sentral Bus Terminal. The fare is at S$1.43 and is available every 9-14 minutes, starting from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm daily. 

Travelling From Singapore To JB Sentral (By Self-Driving)

There are two routes available which is through the Woodland Link and the Second Link (Tuas Expressway). A trip from Singapore to Johor Bahru Sentral takes about 15-30 minutes if the traffic condition is not crowded. However, if there are massive congestion, you may end up stucking in traffic for more than 2 hours.

We will recommend you to take the Woodlands Checkpoint as it is cheaper in terms of toll fees. The fees for tolls on Woodlands Checkpoint and Tuas Checkpoint are S$1.00 and S$2.50 respectively. Also, the Tuas Checkpoint is massively a distance away, JB Sentral is located just ahead Woodland Checkpoint. However, traffic at Woodlands Checkpoint tends to be more intense.
