Located in Johor, this 100-arce farm is Malaysia’s first organic farm opened to public that is developed by Zenxin Agri-Organic Food, a leading producer of organic product for both educational and recreation value.

1. VISIT MULBERRY FARM
One of the significant attractions available in Zenxin Organic Farm would be their massive open field Mulberry Farm, which consist of hundreds of mulberry trees that produce huge amount of sweet and juicy mulberries every year. These mulberries are a great source of Vitamin C and usually being used to replace dates in many raw vegans dishes. Unripe mulberries taste really sour but on the other hand, ripe mulberries taste really sweet, you can tell that the mulberry is ripe when it started to turn really dark, almost like the color of the blackberries. Besides, mulberry leaves do have health-boosting properties of curing minor illness and healing cold, it is usually being used in tea brewing too.
2. VISIT DRAGON FRUIT FARM
Have you ever wonder how does a dragon fruit plant looks like?
Do you know that dragon fruit’s flower only blooms at night before it turns to a fruit during the second day?
Here, in Zenxin Organic Farm, they do offer a free visit to their dragon fruits farm occupied with hundreds of dragon fruit tree. For your information, taking care of dragon fruits are not easy, it required a lot of time and energy to grow a big juicy dragon fruit as this precious fruit usually attracts insects to eat it due to its sweet smell. Another interesting facts about dragon fruit is that it is actually coming from the cactus family, where do also have thick and succulent stems to store water and prevent water loss during the hot water.
3. FINDING 40-DAY BANANAS
A typical banana plant may takes up to 90 to 100 days to be ripen and mature. However, using the latest technology and improved banana plant’s bud, the 40-day bananas only need 40 days to become mature and ripen. These bananas are usually smaller in size when compared with other bananas, due to its quick maturation process. Not forgot to mention that these bananas do taste great like normal bananas as they also taste really sweet and creamy.
4. TASTE THE WORLD’S SMALLEST CUCUMBER
Insight the smallest cucumber in the world, the creeping cucumber in Zenxin Organic Farm. As mentioned in its name, the creeping cucumber do have tendrils that cling onto something nearby to support itself to get enough sunlight. However, their cucumber is so minute that you can’t even see them in the photo provided. This extremely small cucumber are very refreshing and juicy despite its tiny size.
5. HERB GARDEN WALKING
Relax both of your tiring mind and soul while walking along the path in Zenxin Organic Farm’s Herb Garden. For your information, there is more than hundred types of herbs available in the garden and you may even discover rare herbs that you have not seen before in the city there. 6. ORGANIC HERBS PICKING
Feeling amazed and falling in love with the herbs available in Zenxin Organic Farm’s Herb Garden? There is a small shout out for you, you may harvest your favorite herbs and bring it home! Some popular herbs that visitors usually bring home would be the ladyfingers, Sweet Thai Basil Leaves, Siam Basil, Mint Leaves and Dill. These herbs are great to be used in cooking or to be added into any tonic water to provide an additional taste or smell that could bring the dishes to another level.
7. MULBERRY TEA AND JUCIE DRINKING
Upon arriving Zenxin Organic Farm, every visitors would be greeted with the farm’s freshly brewed organic mulberry tea which are rich in Vitamins B2, C and K. This tea is made of mulberry plant leaves and it does relief cold, cough and throat infections, serving as a great health-boosting tea for minor disease recovering.
8. FLUFFY ANIMALS CUDDLES
Similar to a mini zoo, Zenxin Organic Farm’s Pet Area provide a place for young children and pet lovers to get close to the animals. Animals such as ducks, chickens and rabbits could be found here and there would be feeding session where visitors are allowed to enjoy feeding them too.
9. HAND-MADE LOOFA BODY SCPONGE
Any clue on what is a loofah?
Well, loofah is a popular natural body scrub which is sold at common body spa shops such as The Body Shop. It is actually a fruit of a plant called luffa that looks like an exfoliating sponge when the skin is peeled.
In order to prepare loofah, visitors are needed to dry the loofa fruit under the sun until its skin turn dark brown and can easily peel off the skin. A cylindrical luffa fruit would be reveal once after its dark brown skin had been fully removed. The seeds are then removed before leaving it to dry under the direct sun to remove all its moisture. This natural sponge does not hurt or scratched our skin easily as it is soft and springy.
10. EM MUDBALLS SHAPPING
These clayiest color mud balls are not just ordinary mud balls, they are actually called EM mud balls which stand for effective microorganism. During the preparation of EM Mud balls, a mixture of bokashi organic matter fermentation and effective microorganism would be added into the dirt. Sometimes, lactic acid bacteria and photosynthetic bacteria would be added into the mud balls as well.
After shaped into desired shape or into just a round ball, these mud balls are allowed to ferment before leaving aside to be dried. Then, they would be thrown into ‘dirty’ water bodies to purify the water and remove any sludge and slime deposits.
11. STEAMBOAT AT CHEF GARDEN RESTAURANT
Whenever you drop by the farm, you should have a try of Chef Garden Restaurant’s steamboat because they just use the freshest ingredients direct fron Zenxin Organic Farm in their dishes. These ingredients are provided in a generous amount and should feed at least three to four people per meal. Price is also affordable and worth for the food.
12. ORGANIC VEGETABLES FARM TOUR
You would be amazed with the huge area of Zenxin Organic Farm’s vegetable farm once you step your first step into it. This entire organic farm is covered with green leafy vegetables and translucent greenhouses lining along the farm path. It do provide a great stroll to inhale some fresh air while relaxing the mind too. Organic vegetables such as lady fingers, cucumber, brinjal, siew pak choy, lettuce and long beans can easily be found here.
13. ORGANIC PRODUCTS SHOPPING
Zenxin Oraganic Farm’s organic products totally worth for the price as it is free from any chemical fertilizers and pesticides. These organic products do include fresh fruits and vegetables such as passion fruit, dragon fruit, papaya, banana, choy sum, siew pak choy, long beans, cucumber, pumpkin, lady finger and eggplant. Organic Mulberry Tea Leaves and Misai Kucing Tea (Cat Whisker’s Tea) are also recommended as both of them are produced under a natural environment.
Besides, zero preservatives and artificial additives free natural food like organic noodles, oat products, sprouted rice products, organic honey, organic spices and organic wine are also been sold in their Farm Mart.
14. MUSHROOM HOUSE INSIGHT
Visitors can visit the Mushroom House at Zenxin Organic Farm where the spores are mixed with rice bran and sawdust for mushrooms to sprout. In order to maximize sporing, the mushroom house’s humidity would be kept at 75%. Natural insects repellents and traps cuch as lemongrass and spiders are kept outside the mushroom house also, to avoid the mushrooms to be eaten or destroyed by the insects.
15. CYCLING IN THE FARM
Bicycle renting for a cycling adventure in the farm is also offered by Zenxin Organic Farm with a little payment. This activity is best done early in the morning and in the evening, when the scenery of the farm is the best to be enjoyed while cycling. The terrain of the farm is pretty okay and suitable for beginners as it is not too sloppy or dangerous to them.
16. BUYING CUTE TERRARIUMS AND PLANTS
Cute terrariums, amazing plants and high quality seeds sold in affordable price could be found in Horti Plant Center. Besides, the staffs working there are friendly enough and would like to share information and knowledge they have on taking care of these precious plants.
17. FISH CATCHING CHALLENGE
This could be the most challenging activity available in Zenxin Organic Farm. It does really test every visitors’ patience and persistence as the fishes in the pond are very small and they swam really fast. Before the challenge start, every challenger would be given a pail and a net to catch as many fishes as they can in the limited time. These fishes would them released back into the water once the challenge end.
18. FISH FEEDING
Feeding fishes with fish pallets by just tossing them onto the water surface seems boring and not interesting right? here, Zenxin Organic Farm do came out with an innovative way of feeding the fish, by feeding them with milk bottles. This innovative way is done by soaking and melting the fish food in a milk bottle to produce a suspension of fish food and water before placing it close to the water surface. Visitors can see how the fishes in the pond dive for the milk bottle once the milk bottle is put and feel their movement in the water.
19. OWN-INSPIRING FLOWER PRINTS MAKING
The flower print making activity would surely entice any ladies. First, visitors are needed to pick and collect their preferable flowers or herbs in Zenxin Organic Farm’s Herb Garden and arrange them between two pieces of clean white cloth. Then, the upper layer of the cloth would cover the flower or herbs and whacked hardly with a hammer until an imprint was leaved on both sides of the white cloth.
20. ARCHERY PLAYING
Challenge your aiming skill with the archery challenge available in Zenxin Organic Farm. Visitors are allowed to have their internal competition organized among their family members or friends too, in order to create valuable memories.
21. MINI COOKING CLASS
This mini cooking class provided by Zenxin Organic Farm usually becomes the preference of girls and housewives who like cooking. Ingredients and seasonings would be provided by the organizer of the cooking class too. When the class is conducted, there would be a tutor available there to guide every students till the end by providing demonstrations on how to prepare the food and tips to make those food more delicious. The cooking class menu would be randomly changed from time to time to avoid the students from being bored too. Students are also allowed to eat their final food product they made after cooking it.
