Trips to Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Ipoh and Cameron Highlands include one free meal stop each way. Toilet stops are free and usually no problem — just ask the driver. Waiting in Malaysia is SGD35 per hour for a Toyota Innova and SGD40 per hour for a Toyota Alphard / Vellfire or Hyundai Staria / Starex; the first hour of waiting is not charged for departure or point-to-point trips. Child seats SGD10 / RM35; each extra pickup or drop-off point in Singapore is SGD10.

Checkpoint

We use Woodlands or Tuas, whichever is faster on the day. You normally stay in the car through both checkpoints — just have everyone's passports ready to hand to the officer at the immigration booth.

Why Not a Cross-Border Taxi?

Cross-border taxis can only drop off in Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai and Senai — every destination on this page needs a private car that drives the whole way.

How to Book and Pay

  • WhatsApp +60 11-6796 0658 (WeChat / LINE: Sgmytrips), or the booking form.
  • Book now, pay later — pay the driver in cash, or pay by PayNow at the end of the trip.
  • We prefer payment in Singapore dollars (SGD) or Malaysian ringgit (MYR); for other currencies, please ask our team before your trip.
  • No deposit.
  • For rescheduling, kindly notify our team 1–2 days in advance. To cancel your booking, please inform us at least 1–2 days in advance. Free cancellation if you tell us at least 1–2 days before pickup.

Singapore to Malaysia Rates — FAQ

How much is a private car from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Genting, Malacca or Desaru?

For a Toyota Innova: Desaru SGD160 one-way or SGD300 return; Malacca SGD260 / SGD500; Kuala Lumpur SGD340 / SGD640; Genting Highlands SGD380 / SGD720. A Toyota Alphard / Vellfire or Hyundai Staria / Starex costs more — see the table above. All fares are per vehicle, with fuel, parking, tolls and checkpoint entry fee included.

Is the fare per person or per vehicle?

Per vehicle. You book the whole car and driver for your group, so the fare is the same whether two or six people travel in a Toyota Innova.

We are 5–6 people. Should we take a Toyota Innova or a bigger vehicle?

It depends mostly on luggage. A Toyota Innova takes up to 6 passengers with about 1 large and 3 medium bags. A Toyota Alphard / Vellfire takes 5 passengers with about 2 large and 3 medium bags. A Hyundai Staria / Starex takes up to 7 passengers with about 2 large and 4 medium bags, at the same fare as the Toyota Alphard / Vellfire. Send us your passengers and bags on WhatsApp and a real person will tell you which one fits.

Is a return trip cheaper than two one-way trips?

Yes, on every route on this page. For example, Singapore to Kuala Lumpur in a Toyota Innova is SGD340 one-way or SGD640 return.

Are there any extra charges?

Only if you ask for them: child seats at SGD10 / RM35 each, SGD10 per extra pickup or drop-off point in Singapore, and waiting in Malaysia at SGD35 per hour (Toyota Innova) or SGD40 per hour (Toyota Alphard / Vellfire or Hyundai Staria / Starex). The first hour of waiting is not charged for departure or point-to-point trips.

How long is the drive?

Door to door, depending mostly on checkpoint queues: about 2.5–3 hours to Desaru; 2.5–3.5 hours to Kluang, Batu Pahat or Tanjung Leman; 3–4 hours to Muar, Tangkak, Mersing or Malacca; 3.5–4.5 hours to the Tanjung Gemok jetty for Tioman; 4–5 hours to Port Dickson; 4–6 hours to Kuala Lumpur; 6–8 hours to Genting Highlands; and 6.5–7.5 hours to Ipoh. About 7–8 hours to Cameron Highlands and 8–9 hours to Penang.

Which checkpoint do you use, and do we get out of the car?

We use Woodlands or Tuas, whichever is faster on the day. You normally stay in the car through both checkpoints — just have everyone's passports ready to hand to the officer at the immigration booth.

Is a private car from Singapore to Malaysia legal?

Yes. SGMYTRIPS Sdn. Bhd. holds MOTAC tourism licence L/N10641. Cross-border taxis can only drop off in Johor Bahru, Iskandar Puteri, Forest City, Kulai and Senai, so the destinations on this page need a private car that drives the whole way.

How do I pay? Is there a deposit?

There is no deposit. Book now, pay later — pay the driver in cash, or pay by PayNow at the end of the trip. We prefer payment in Singapore dollars (SGD) or Malaysian ringgit (MYR); for other currencies, please ask our team before your trip.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

For rescheduling, kindly notify our team 1–2 days in advance. To cancel your booking, please inform us at least 1–2 days in advance. Free cancellation if you tell us at least 1–2 days before pickup.

My destination isn't listed. Can you still take us?

Send us the full address on WhatsApp +60 11-6796 0658 and a real person will check the route and quote you. For Johor Bahru, LEGOLAND and nearby areas — including from Changi Airport — see our Singapore to Johor Bahru rates. Need a car by the hour? See our day-trip hourly service.

Can we stop for a meal or the toilet on the way?

Yes. Trips to Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands, Ipoh and Cameron Highlands include one free meal stop each way. Toilet stops are free and usually no problem — just ask the driver.
