From the outside, it may not look like much, as it is a rather tiny hotel, only taking up a singular house’s worth of space. On the inside, however, be ready to be transported back in time as the aesthetic and the architecture are straight out of Peranakan Melaka. The hotel is a refurbished Peranakan townhouse, and now houses an on-site restaurant on the bottom floor and living quarters in the upper one. The aesthetic and general look is lovingly crafted to reflect on the rich history of Melaka’s Peranakan culture, which is a mix of Chinese and Malay ethnicities, and it pays homage rather well with the authentic recreations of Peranakan interior design as well as choice of décor, albeit with a modern twist.

The area of Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock is relatively close to many of Melaka’s attractions, both historical and new.
