Completely renovated in year 2012, Kulim Eco Trail Retreat is ready to offer a new clean and comfortable environment with more exciting activities. This fresh looking retreat is located within the lush oil palm estate of Ladang Basir Ismail, Kota Tinggi, which is a developing tourism spot in Johor.

The newly renovated Kulim Eco Trail Retreat’s building offers a grandeur feeling to every guests who are having a stay there. If observed carefully, guests are able to see that the lasting cengal wood stairs and flooring from the last few decades still had been retained although a large renovation project had been carried out. The building also provide its guests a mixed feeling of vintage and new, with simple furnishing and basic amenities available.

LARGE GRASSLAND

Kulim Eco Trail Retreat offers a large grassland which is suitable to carry out outdoor sport and camping. This enchanting location will totally amaze everyone, especially young children and getting them excited to step on this lush green field. This field is also a great place for camping and having friendly game matches too.

ACTIVITIES OFFERED

1. CAMPING ON THE WIDE GRASSLAND

This could be the most preferred activity for every campers and young children who like camping.

As mentioned, there is a wide green grassland available in Kulim Eco Trail Retreat, which could be great place for a camp. There would be no limitations on where to set up the tents, as long as these tents do not affect anyone’s outdoor activities to be conducted.

However, please be reminded that all camping visitors are prohibited from using charcoal grills, having open camp fires, smoking outside of their vehicles, and operating engines on the grassland during the camp in order to protect the lush green field.

2. CHALLENGING OBSTACLE COURSES & TEAM BUILDING GAMES

Kulim Eco Trail Retreat also offer various type of challenging obstacles course and team-building games for both students and adults. These obstacles and games are designed by the trainers available in Kulim Eco Trail Retreat, intended to improve performance in a team-based environment. The obstacle courses such as military’s crawling, low wall challenge, tyres crossing-walk and high walk would be located at the outside of the building. On the other hand, there would be options of indoor and outdoor team building games to be selected by the challengers.

3. FLYING FOX

Zip-lining or known as flying fox would defiantly makes your adrenaline rush took over yourself and end up screaming non-stop from fear of falling. Feel the wind blowing across your face, look at the great view of beautiful surrounding is what you just need to do during this activity. Hence, be ready and strap yourself a Go-Pro or monopod to record this amazing moment as you fly across to the opposite end. You may even feel the speed due to the slant degree of the flying fox design and this feeling would be wonderful in the hot and humid weather.

4. X-CAPE ROOM

Kulim Eco Trail Retreat’s X-Cape Room is an upgraded version of normal escape room, where more exciting brainstorming activities are included. This team-building challenge require every challenger to solve all the questions and clues in order to escape from the building. During the game is carried out, numerous number of puzzles, mystery questions, clues could be found and there would be some simple tasks to be done in order to get more valuable hints. The ‘winners’ of the game would be determined if they successfully solve these puzzles and escape from the building within 45 minutes.

The X-cape room requires a lot of co-ordination, team-work, leadership and patience, it could be a great activity to strengthen the family bonds or enhancing the friendship too.

5. RAFTING AND CANOEING

If you are into adventure sports, especially those that are on the water, there are a couple of them that you can experience in Kulim Eco Trail Retreat which are very exciting. One of them is called rafting, while the other is called canoeing. Rafting and canoeing are recreational outdoor activities which use an inflatable raft or canoe to navigate a river and other body of water. The difference is that rafting could involve more team members when compared to canoeing, which only require one or two team members. These fun water sports are able to entertain every visitors and hence increase their team-work as well.

6. STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDING (SUP)

Originated form Hawaii, this offshoot water activity had recently become one of the most popular water sport that everyone would like to have a try. Here, Kulim Eco Trail Retreat would like to take this opportunity to recommend their stand-up paddle boarding or known as SUP to every guests who are interested in it. Unlike traditional surfing, stand-up paddling only requires the players to stand on their board and propel themselves by using a paddle, hence, waiting for a big wave is not needed. This activity is safer too, as it only been carried out on a flat and calm river surface.

Besides, this water activity do challenge every player’s balancing because it would be hard for beginners to stand up on the board without falling into the water. Need not to be afraid that there would be a coach available to teach and guide every players through the whole activity.

Get ready and prepare your eyes to witness the amazing campfire show offered by Kulim Eco Trail Retreat during the night!!! Here, visitors are able to see the trained staffs breathe fire, ‘eat’ it and perform a firely performance that leave everyone breathless. After the performance, visitors can take part in fun activities such as bamboo dancing, limbo and macarena with the friendly staffs.

9. BIRD WATCHING

Another interesting thing to do while visiting Kulim Eco Trail Retreat would definitely be their bird watching during early in the morning. This place of attraction is usually a resting place for many species of birds such as hornbills, kingfishers and eagles that breed along the Johor River.

10. FIRE FLY TRIP

Kulim Eco Trail Retreat could provide ever of their guests with an amazing experience of watching fireflies in their fire fly trip during the night time. This fire fly trip would be carried out in a boat, like a boat trip along the quiet river. There, the guests can be able to see numerous of bright shinning fireflies which ‘hide’ within the mangrove trees. This scenery do create a Christmas-like atmosphere where rows of Christmas trees are decorated with glowing mini LEDs.

11. BANANA PROCESSING TOUR

As mentioned, there is a banana farm located near Basir Ismail Estate which is planted with hundreds of acres of banana trees ready to be harvested and exported under the ‘Montel’ Brand. By having this wide landscape situated there, guests can have an exploration to the peak of ‘Banana Hill’ after provided with a map.

Another interesting to keep the guests entertained while having the exploration is that there will be ‘banana’ theme tasks offered along the way to the peak to be completed by the guests. These tasks are actually easy, and all the guests can also learn some interesting facts about bananas too.
