Miss grandma’s cooking? Perhaps you can grab some at Grandmama’s.

Grandmama’s restaurant is basically selling authentic Malaysia local cuisine which are quite common to spot in almost every restaurants and eateries of Malaysia. You will know that you are at the correct place as you see Grandmama’s signature trendy biker grandmother signage on the piece of pink coloured wall.

One of the must try food of theirs would be their Signature River Prawn Sang Mee. It is a bowl of Teochew fried noodles with plenty of well seasoned prawn gravy that has the right consistency.

It is reminded that the food offered in Grandmama are in big portion, which are suitable to be shared among two people if you are a small eater. 2. Gindaco

Takoyaki is a popular savory snack food originated from Japan. In Malaysia, this snack can be spotted in large scale grocery store like AEONs and also the night market. But if you are looking for a solid takoyaki joint, Gindaco would be your best choice.

Gindaco travelled all their way from Japan and  started their business in Malaysia since the year 2015, offering every foodies with wide varieties of Takoyaki. All Takoyakis of Gindako are prepared and served hot upon order. Generous amount of chopped octopus and food ingredients are added into the Takoyaki batter too, making the Takoyaki money worthing Besides the Original Flavour Takoyaki, there are options of other flavours like Negidako, Wasabi Seaweed, Cheese Mentaiko, and Teritama to try. 3. Goon Wah Restaurant

Goon Wah Restaurant is located at the 4th floor of the Sky Avenue. This restaurant is basically selling typical hawker Chinese cuisine such as fried rice, claypot noodles, Kong Nam Mee, Pattaya Tau Foo and Claypot Curry Fish Head.

What so special about Goon Wah Restaurant menu is their extraordinary Claypot XO Fried Fish Head Noodles that you could never get at any other restaurant. This pefect combination of slurpy-licious noodles pairs perfectly with the succulent fish fillet which is fried into crispy. To your surprise, these fried fish fillets still retained its smooth and springy texture although being fried and broiled in the claypot. Slightly add some XO to level up the deliciousness, you will never regret it.

Besides that, you should also try Stewed Pork Belly with Yam served with White Mantous! The pork belly is perfectly stewed until the meat is tender and flavourful. It is commonly eaten by clipping a slice of pork belly and yam within the soft mantou and dipped into the savory soy sauce based gravy of the stew, sinfully delicious but worth it.

4. Ah Yip Herbal Soup

Happiness is hot soup in a cold weather! Ah Yip Herbal Soup Restaurant is a good stop for foodies who like slow cooked Chinese soup cuisine which warms up their growling tummy. It is highly recommended for you to enjoy your meal at Ah Yip during the lunchtime as the restaurant offers special lunch meals as low as RM15 (SGD5) each.

Wide selections of slow cooked Chinese soup cuisine are offered in Ah Yip Restaurant. To mention some of the hot items, there are Herbal Chicken Soup, Ginseng Chicken Soup, Ipoh Bak Kut Teh, Scallop and Cordyeep Flower Soup and also the Groundnut and Scallop Soup. 5. Absolute Thai

SAWADEEKA! Absolute Thai might be a familiar name to Thai food lover, and we are lucky to have one of their outlets in Genting Highland Sky Avenue! Similar to the other outlets, Absolute Thai food offer typical Thai food with the same menu list. You can even refer to the food image attached in the menu for references if you can’t decide what to eat.

Whenever talking about Thai Food, Thai Tomyam is a must order! Absolute Thai served their Tomyam in a firepot in order to maintain the soup temperature. There are 2 choices of Tomyam to be chosen upon order. You can choose either to have White Tomyam or Red Tomyam as the soup base. The White Tomyam is a clear spicy soup with strong lemongrass flavour and pure spiciness from the crushed small chillies itself.

On the other hand, the Red Tomyam is oilier and spicier, due to the usage of chilli paste during the preparation process. Its spiciness might cause an after effect in your throat once consumed, but it is really addictive.Need not to be worried that if you are allergy to seafood, Absolute Thai also offer Tomyam with chicken in their menu.

Other than that, Absolute Thai also serve plenty of Thai dishes such as Pandan Chicken, Thai Fish Cake, Green Curry and Pad Thai. Their price is quite reasonable and the portion of their regular size dishes would be enough to feed 2 person at once.

6. TaiBae

When you are bored with Western, or Chinese cuisine, no worries, Taiwanese cuisine is another best choice for you. Just by looking at the restaurant’s name, you will surely know that this restaurant serves Taiwanese food in their menu. It is because the name of the restaurant, TaiBae sound similar to ‘TaiPei’, which is the capital city of Taiwan.

As everyone’s know, the most popular food in Taiwan is Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice). It is a bowl of rice cuisine with full topping of braised pork and braised egg. It might looks simple in its appearance, but the juiciness and the authentic flavour of the braised pork will definitely make you craving for more.
