If you are in the mood for a bit of Thai cuisine, then this restaurant is the one for you. It is designed with traditional woodwork in mind, and designed with deliberate touches of exposed wood framing and pillars peeking out, as well as beautifully decorated with theme-appropriate wooden blinds and potted plants.

The menu here is authentic and delicious, taking from traditional Thai cuisine and for the most part being very true to form. You can get anything from Pineapple Fried Rice to Pad Thai.

  1. Baba Nyonya by Sambal Chili

How about a taste closer to home, a taste of olden Melaka to be exact?

Taking inspiration from local baba nyonya culture, the Baba Nyonya by Sambal Chili is a well-designed restaurant with hints of nyonya heritage in the form of decor and art pieces spread out across the establishment. The paper lanterns arranged along the ceiling really bring out a sense of authenticity, and elevates the ‘Instagram-able’ capabilities of the restaurant.

Their menu is filled with nyonya classics such as Cap Cai (stir-fried vegetables) and Kangkung Belancan (water spinach with shrimp paste), but the main highlight here is their Kapitan Chicken, or nyonya style curry chicken.

The broth is creamy with a small hit of spice, just enough to get your taste buds excited but not to the point you burn your palate, and the chicken is tender and infused with all the goodness from the curry.
