2. The Peninsular Tailor Cafeteria
The Peninsular Tailor Cafe Malacca is a fairly new establishment, having just opened its doors in June this year. Despite being the new kid on the block, The Peninsular Tailor Cafeteria is already known for its unique interior design, waffles and coffee. One of their special drinks is the rose latte.
This event space will transport you to the past with their unique design that fuses Oriental and Western styles, almost reminiscent of Hong Kong in the 1930s. The wooden panels on the walls give the space a homey touch, and the soft lighting induces a relaxing atmosphere.
Various mosaic patterns cover parts of the space, adding to the authenticity of the vintage vibe. Floral patterns symbolic of the 30s adorn the walls. Come here to relax, enjoy a good cuppa and also take plenty of pictures in this time portal. What’s cool about the place is that they play like super old music from ancient China. 3. The Huskitory
Out of the many cafes at Malacca one that is worth visiting is The Huskitory Cafe. Its location isn’t as convenient as Taman Asean is quite a drive away (about 20 minutes from Jonker area) from Malacca city but its unique disposition makes it a novelty. After all, how many dog cafes are there in Malaysia? Maybe 4 to 5 in the Klang Valley but none are huskies-specific. And for Malacca, this is the only pet cafe (no cat cafes as yet) in the state.
If you only have the weekends to spare, we have found a great place in Malacca where you can cuddle up with furry huskies. Huskitory is primarily a pet store and pet grooming salon. There are 9 huskies here for patrons to play with they are on rotation. Reservations are a must for weekends and public holidays, but it is quiet on weekdays, which makes it the best time for visits as you do not have to jostle with the other patrons for your playtime with the dogs.
We know, it is hard to resist buying dog treats for them when they look at you with such soulful eyes. Treats go for RM2 per packet and you get one for free with every three packets purchased. Unless you happen to be a dog whisperer, having some treats on you is the easiest way to catch the huskies’ attention. There are two outdoor sessions in a day—one from 5pm to 7pm and the next at 8pm to 10pm. During these periods, the huskies would be let out into the backyard where you can have fun interacting with them.
While there is no entrance fee, visitors are required to pay RM18 for a drink. There is no minimum order imposed and food and beverages options are limited to cakes and drinks or coffee. For coffee, you have 3 options to choose which are Kazzar, Arpeggio and Livanto. Pet owners can consider purchasing some tidbits for their furkids back at home. There is a wide range of pet snacks and even soft toys for Fido to play around with.

Inside Scoop specialize in some of the more uncommon flavors of ice cream in Malaysia such as durian and Teh Tarik.
The current flavors favor the classics and the crowd-pleasing choices are Vanilla bean to hazelnut, tiramisu to cookies-&-cream, Valrhona chocolate to pistachio, blueberry cheesecake to durian, pink grapefruit sorbet to strawberry yogurt.
If you love to eat waffle, you also can enjoy your ice cream with waffles. There are different type of waffles you can find in Inside Scoop. They are buttermilk waffles, salted egg waffles and charcoal waffles.

5. Tappers café
Tappers Cafe is a franchise and has many branches around Malaysia. They even have a branch at Dataran Pahlawan, Malacca. Unlike most cafes, Tappers is more like a restaurant where they serve all kinds of local and western food. They have sets for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. One of the major reasons to eat at the Tappers Café at Dataran Pahlawan is because of the view. If you sat at their upper floor, you get to enjoy your meal with the A Famosa fort serving as the backdrop.
Golden Salted Chicken Rice which is one of the recommended dishes in Tappers Café is very delicious and tasty. It’s quite rare to find Chinese ‘dai chao’ dishes that taste exactly like how you would expect, moreover at a cafe. The salted egg sauce is rich, creamy and fragrant while the chicken is both crunchy and tender.
Another recommended dish in Tapper Café is Chicken Parmigiana. It’s basically a breaded chicken breast in tomato spaghetti sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese. You can also think of it as a pizza, except that the dough has been replaced with crispy fried chicken. Besides, Golden Salted Egg Prawn Spaghetti is highly recommended by chef and customers too.
The Golden Salted Egg Prawn Spaghetti is truly a delectable combination of East and West. As expected, the salted egg sauce paired perfectly with the pasta and you can taste a subtle spiciness in it too.
For those who like a hearty breakfast, Tappers Big Breakfast is a great choice. It has everything you look for yet costs less than what other cafes charge. The platter includes chicken sausage, beef or chicken bacon, scrambled eggs, hash brown, baked beans, mixed mushrooms and buttered focaccia toast. Drinks wise we would recommend trying their double shot coffee (Latte @ RM8.50) and signature Tappers Teh (RM4.50) for first timers. They are incredibly strong and rich and taste A LOT better than what you get at other chain kopitiam outlets.
If you have been planning on visiting Tappers Café, don’t wait, just go ahead and try put their food.

The little cafe serves some nice coffee with croissants and is a great place for breakfast and afternoon coffee-time.
The barista specialty, Gula Melaka Latte is highlighted on a little blackboard outside the cafe. Gula Melaka is the locally produced palm sugar and is a good replacement for sugar with a faint coconut flavour.
Although Stolen Cup Café is not a very big cafe, the space is just nice so there will not be too many people in the cafe and allow more room for checking out the decorations. The walls in Stolen Cup Cafe are nicely decorated with painted wooden planks, posters and old clocks, giving it a rustic look-and-feel.
For the coffee in Stolen Cup Café, you can try Gula Melaka latte and Gula Melaka cappuccino. Both of these cups of coffee might look similar, but their tastes are different. The gula Melaka added nice flavour to the coffees.
