2. Orang Utan House

 

 

Orang Utan House was established in 1992 as an art house gallery by a Malacca born artist Charles Cham. Originally, The  Orang Utan House was a studio gallery for displaying  Charles’ works, but now transformed into a shop selling lovely souvenirs and his canvas artwork.

The exterior of the building is brightly painted with a large orange-utan mural in in sunshine yellow. It is the one of the most recognizable buildings in Malacca and one of the must-see local attraction for all visitors too. Inside the vicinity is an extensive collection of the artist’s contemporary paintings.

These paintings are all for sale. LW Nyonya Pineapple Tarks House which is owned by the husband and wife team – Teng and Lucy, is one of the local attraction in Melaka that serves wonderful Peranakan and Nyonya cuisine. It is popular for its pastries especially their pineapple tart, which has been listed in the 2004 Malaysian Guinness Record Book for baking the largest pineapple tart in Malaysia.

Located at Jalan Tan Cheng Lock, the Malaqa House Museum Sdn. Bhd is also a must visit place for the tourists. Surprisingly, this ‘museum’ do sounds and looks like an ordinary museum but it is actually not.
