Malacca is widely know for its harmonious blend of cultures as well as numerous historical sites. Malacca also offers a big range of eating alternatives, from Chinese, Malay, Indian , Nyonya ,Spanish, and fusion delicacies .

To prevent food hunter hunting directionless, I have listed out Top 15 food in Malacca in my personal opinion. Hope that will be helpful for those who are the food hunter.

1. Satay Celup

They skewered all the meat, seafood and veggie on bamboo sticks, dipped into a hotpot of thick, spicy peanut sauce. It is crowd packed during holiday and weekend, other days you can get a seat easily. Capital Satay Celup and Ban Lee Siang are the two of more famous in Malacca.

2. Longkang Siham

Kangkung and cuttlefish was recommended also. The entrance to the back alley is just right next to Madam King’s departmental store.

3. Chicken Rice Ball

These rice balls are cooked with chicken soup and were hand-shaped into ping pong sized ball. The chicken rice shop has been dishing out scrumptious chicken and other side dishes to their customers, the chicken was so smooth and juicy. The shop closes when ingredients run out.

# Hoe Kee Chicken Rice  – No 4,6&8, Jalan Hang Jebat , 75200

**Operation hours: Everyday 9 AM-4 PM

4. Nyonya Assam Laksa

Nyonya Laksa consists of taupok, boiled egg and fishballs and served with a mixture of yellow noodles, meehoon. It tastes slightly similar to the sourish Penang Laksa with Assam broth and is fiery spicy.

5. Cendol

Cendol is a traditional dessert in Malacca. It made from shaved ice, coconut milk, green starched noodles (made by coconut water and rice) with pandan flavoring and palm sugar. That feeling I can’t describe when you are eating under the sun. You should try it at Jonker88.

6. Durian Puff

This is one of the best durian puff was strongly recommended. Some customers are not a fan of durians but after tried they are not regret and fall in love with it lol!

7. Ikan Bakar Parameswara

Greats place for dinner. By the beach with super windy environment. The restaurant offers a lot of seafood, fresh from the sea. You able to pick your own seafood and tell them how to cook it. The price is reasonable.

8. Pineapple Pork Satay + Pineapple Satay Sauce

There have pork and chicken satay and other pork organ satay, prefer the pork satay! The highlight supposed to be the special pineapples satay sauce which is unusual for a normal satay dish.

9. Nadeje

If you are the cake lovers, you must come and try it! The mille cake made of many crepe layers with alternating thin layers of sponge and cream. It tastes so light just like be eating a cloud and when digging into the cakes was like shoveling through snow. A great place to head for a lunchtime treat after a burst of crazy shopping.

10. Coconut Shake

It is a concoction of coconut water, ice cube and vanilla ice cream blended together in a mixer.

11. Putu Piring

Fresh steamed local rice cakes with coconut sugar. Putu piring is best eaten when it’s warm. No word to describe how delicious of it, queue may be long but it was truly worth to wait.

12. Lim Kee Bah Kut Teh

This was a Bah Kut Teh restaurant frequented by the locals. The soup for the Bah Kut Teh was the herbal one. Their yam rice was quite tasty and even had cubes of yam in it.

13. Restaurant Kok Keong

A place that recommended by locals. This restaurant is known for its meat soup and yam rice. The meat soup somethimg similar to Bah Kut Teh but different ingredient.

14. Eco Tree Skydeck 360

15. Nyonya Food

A highly recommended nyonya cuisine with a variety of locally cooked dishes with savourly fresh ingredients. Overall environment was clean and airconditioned.
