1. Amber Rock Climb

Amber Rock Climb is one of the lesser known attractions at Universal Studios Singapore. It is located at the end of the Jurassic Park Area. Most of the people will miss out Amber Rock Climb If they don’t venture all the way in. The rock wall is approximately 6 floors high and with 3 levels for you to choose which is either easy, medium or difficult.

If you want to join Amber Rock Climb, you have to bring your identification card and passport. Whoever is underage must accompanied with their parents to sign the indemnity form. Covered shoes is a must, no slipper or sandals allowed as you might get injured during the climbing session. Also, you are recommended to climb at 5pm evening which is less sunny and windy. There will be an instructor guiding you all the way up to the top, so you don’t have to worry. Before the climbing session start, the belayer will help you to put on the safety belt and gave you a short briefing on the overall climbing session. The belayer will explained to you how to make sure the rope is tight enough and how to descend.

If you are a new learner, go for the easy level instead of the hard 1 because you might find it difficult to reach to the top. The belayer will tell you which hold to step on, all you need to do is listen and pay attention to the hold you step on. You can hardly see the hold because the colour of the hold blended in with the background colour.

You need 100% attention to decide which hold to step. You will definitely feel tired after a halfway climbing because it needs muscle to push your body move upward. If you feel like do not have any energy to move further, then you can ask the belayer to let you down.

2. Revenge of the Mummy

Revenge of the Mummy is one of the best attraction in the whole of Universal Studios Singapore. It is an indoor psychological roller coaster thrill ride. However, it has a height restriction of 122cm, where children below this height are not allowed to participate with.

Revenge of the Mummy is an enclosed roller coaster based on the Mummy film franchise. During the ride, there will be moments where you feel that you will drop out of your seats and some uncontrollable turns in the dark.

Adrenaline level boosting steep drops are available, so get your heart prepared for it. Sound effects will be played along the rides to flame up the exciting atmosphere. Not forget to mention the strobe lights and sudden real flame effect too.

The whole experience is only taking 3 minutes to finish but you will feel like you are spending your entire life there as it is too scary and excited. Please take notes that cameras and handphones are not allowed to be brought along as the speed of the ride will be very fast and your camera might ‘fly’ out and injured the other challengers.

3. Treasure Hunter

As you can tell by the name of the place, Treasure Hunter is a simple outdoor track ride, where your group climbs into a jeep for a tour of an abandoned Egyptian excavation site with a few mild surprises along the way. During the thrill, Treasure Hunter will bring you back to the early 50 centuries where dinosaur still exist.

Once participating in the fun, you will be asked to sit in an open air-vehicle which is a vintage looking Jeep. It would then bring you to a world where brave adventurers seeking for treasures in the ancient Egypt. You do not need to control the Jeep as the track is motorised. All you need to do is just lean on the seat and relax while exploring the hunt.

Along the way, you will get to see many types of ‘ animals’ displayed around. These animal looks really real. For those who are looking for some chilling session yet interesting activities, Treasure Hunter might suit you well as it is a slow ride.

4. Transformers: The Ride

Transformers The Ride located in Universal Studio Singapore is one of the best ride for both children and adults. It is a 3D ride where you sit in a cart that flings you around in time to the action on the screens and it is incredibly effective.

This ride is built according to the Transformers film franchise. It will guarantee you as close to being in the movie is just like you imagine yourself is one of the transformer. More surprisingly, there will be a blue vehicle called EVAC which is a brand new Autobot Transformer specially created for this ride too. The motion of the vehicle, the hyper-realistic 3D effects, the action sequences all came together seamlessly.

If you are a transformer lover, it is a must for you to visit the Transformers Supply Vault Gift Store after the ride. It a gift store where selling all the Transformer film franchise such as original Transformer t-shirt, mugs, plushies, bags, water bottles, tags and knick knacks. There are also collections of Transformer toys and figures available in the store too.

Just take note that you need to spend longer time to wait for your turn, approximately is around 1 to 2 hours as Transformer Ride is really fun and attracts lots of people. You might get bored while waiting for your turn, but trust us, you will find it really worth for the long queue once you enter into the ride. The graphic they made is really 3D enough.

The entire ride is only around 5 minutes. A 3D glasses will be provided before you entering into ride. No specific wear request just casual wear will do. You can also get to take picture with the giant transformer which looks damn real. Well, again, good things take time, so you might need to queue for few hours before get to enjoy the ride.

 

5. Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase

Sesame fans alert! Now you can visit to Universal Studios Singapore to visit to the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase! It is the world’s first fully immersive Sesame Street indoor themed park. During the ride, guest will become super sidekick of Super Grover and Elmo travelling out to space to stop Macaroni the Merciless from stealing the spaghetti.

So, basically Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase is an indoor dark ride where guests are brought through several scenes, with Sesame Street character in a slow moving vehicle. This is a slow-speed roller coaster which give you the feeling of go up and down but in slower speed. Take note that high in blood and heart pressure people are not allowed to go for the ride.

For young children who are interested to participate in the ride, he or she should have the minimum height of 92cm and with the companion of parents. A Sesame Street themed vehicle has a colourful Sesame Street face, and with Elmo speaking to the guest.

Along the ride, you will get to see all the attractive wall decoration just as the Sesame Street video. The ride itself is not as terrifying as the other rides, but you might get scared by their sound effect. In order to make the scene more realistic, they will add in fogging effect, dramatic lighting and some water splash too.

 

6. Battlestar Galactica – Human vs Cylon

Battlestar Galactica is 2 rides in 1 that is not to be missed, if you enjoy rollercoaster. It is one of the best steel, dueling rollercoaster available at Universal Studio Singapore, reaching 42.5 meters in height.

The Battlestar Galactica – Cylon is a rollercoaster designed like the Cylon Raider, suspended from the track with legs free. It performs an intense manoeuvres which includes 5 different inversions, a zero-G roll, a cobra roll, a corkscrew and also a verticle loop. Its first drop is over 45-degrees steep and over 10 stories tall. The pace for Cylon is more consistent and smoother and less scarier than the Human’s.

Meanwhile, The Battlestar Galactica – Human roallercoaster is designed exactly like the Colonial Viper. It is suitable for challengers who demand for rollercoaster experience without any inversions. According to the Universal Studios Singapore’s engineers, it is said that the Battlestar Galactica – Human enables the challengers to experience more G-Forces than the Cyclon track. Also, this ride will leveling up your adrenaline level at certain points of the rides, where the speed may reached up to 90 kilometers per hour (56mph).

On a peak day, expected wait time is around 45-90 minutes. Remind that both coaster will require you to put all of your stuff in a nearby locker to avoid from stuff falling and any other unwanted loss. It is free for 45 minutes and you have to pay for the subsequent of you exceeded 45 minutes. There will be no single rider queue, the crew member will regularly reorder the front of the queue to allow single riders to board slightly early in order to fill the empty single seats.

7. Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure

Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure is a river rafting adventure which will guaranteed soaking and includes an impressive waterfall drop and plenty of splashing river rapids. So, you are advice to keep your personal belonging in the lockers to prevent from getting wet. It is not free usage as you have to pay for the locker.

Before the adventure started, there will be a big map available at the entrance that show you the Jurassic Park challenge’s final destination that you should reach. If you would not want to get wet, you can get a poncho at the counter or even halfway queuing. There will be few vending machine selling ponchos in the park.

During the adventure, challengers will be gathered to fit on a raft which can perfectly fit in 9 people. You have to put on the conveyor belt dock as you have no control over the raft. It is freely controlled by the water and will just float towards the next destination. Along the way, you will get to see dinosaurs in different types of species. Some of these dinosaurs have built in robotic movements to make them looks more realistic.

Once you finished the ride, do not throw away your ponchos because it still can be reusable. There is an area for you to drop your ponchos for reusable use, and this method is more environmental friendly too. If your cloth gets wet during the ride, there is also a Drying Pods which cost $5 per use to dry up yourself before moving to the next destination. It is worth to give it a try.

8. Shrek 4D Adventure

Located at the larger Far Far Away Themed Area, Shrek 4D Adventure is a mini adventure that allows young children to entertained continuously throughout the day. What’s more amazing is that the queues of Shrek 4D Adventure are not usually long too.

If you are a fairy-tale movie lover, then Shrek 4D Adventure won’t disappoint you. With its lovable characters and rapid-fire jokes, you will be screaming with laughter. Other than that, you can get entertained with other attractions available in the themed area too.

This do include the Donkey Live, an interactive live show presented using digital puppetry technology where Donkey will talk and engage you with lots of funster.

Proceed to their 4D theatre to join Princess Fiona, Shrek, and Donkey on a honeymoon adventure that picks up the Shrek movie left off. You will feel seat bumps and bounces along the movie and some water splash and air blasts. 9. WaterWorld

WaterWorld is a popular show at Universal Studio Singapore. It is also one of the biggest attraction in Sentosa Island that attract many tourists. Water World Singapore Universal Studio is a very popular show, exhibiting the story of the movie further with the similar character.

The Water World stunt show is set in a specially constructed theatre and is an absolute delight. The performers are fully committed to their position in order to bring the best performance for the audience. There are usually a few shows in the afternoon and it is definitely worth to list in your schedule. Also, this show is a combination of stunts, jet skis, gun shots, explosions, flames, pyrotechnics, and a seaplane in front of us, the entire show is filled with humour.

The show time of everyday is 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 5.30pm. If you don’t wish to get wet when watching the show, then do not sit near with the “Soak Zones” because the performer will splash water to the audience. But if you wish to have interactive with the performer then you are welcome to sit near to the soak zones.

There will be a scent where get most excited which is they will hang the person up-side down and thrown him into the water. Do not worry that they will get injured, everything is being trained professional.

 

10. Light, Camera, Action. Hosted by Steven Spielberg

If you can’t bear with the hot sun at outdoor, then Light, Camera, Action is the best place for you to calm down yourself under an air-conditioner environment.

Light, Camera, Action is hosted by Steven Spielberg which will show you a short introduction on the importance of sound stages and special effect for movies like Back to Future Trilogy. There are different types of sound system displaying on the stage for the visitor to listen to the sound. At the first stage, everything still seems great with bright sunny as you can view from the window. The water flow is calm. Slowly, the sky out there started turning darker and flashes of lightning and thunder getting louder and the waves getting strong.

Out of a sudden, you will be able to witness a blazing fire burn the booth and a huge cargo ship crashed onto the boat house. There are many scenes which might fright you because everything looks so real in there just like how the movie show. So, if you are a first timer viewer, then the probability you might get shocked is higher as you will not expect it will be this real but for second time viewer might able to calm themselves.

Overall, it is not a bad experience if you get to try next time. If you have little time left after all the ride then get yourself to watch this kind of incident in Light, Camera, Action.
