Central Public Library is home to My Tree House which is the world first Green Library for kids. It is establishing at the year of 2013 of 31 May,founded by Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, the Minister for Communications and Information of Singapore.
Central Public Library is located at Basement 1 of National Library Building. It is open for all age groups and you are welcome to join their diverse programmes available from time to time.

Their mission is to “create a completely green and innovative library to ignite in young minds a love for nature.
“My Tree House is the first library in the world that goes with this Go Green concept either from design, infrastructure use and materials. Also, this library had been awarded with BCA Green Mark Platinum which is the highest tier for green building in Singapore too.
Its striking tree house canopy is building with over 3000 recycle bottles and the tree trunk is largely fabricated with aluminium, mild steel while it’s steps and surrounding are built with recycled timber.
Basically, Central Public Library contains a collection of 45,000 books that suitable for children at the aged of 4 to 12 in 4 languages and most of it is focus on the green topics such as plants, animals, weather, environment, recycling and climate change.
All of these is to help the children gain knowledge about the environment and way to take care their mother earth. There are also fiction books like fairy-tale that also about environment.

Established during the year of 1999, this library already had 20-year history. It is located at Orchard Gateway and it is suitable for young adult rather than all age group.

4. Library @ Esplanade
Library @ Esplanade is a public library managed by Singapore National Library Board. It is established during the year of 2002. Library @ esplanade is the first public library for the performing arts like music, dance and others.
The purpose of having this library is to bring the performing art to the general public. The founder of the library is Khaw Boon Wan, senior Minister of State for Transport and Information, Communication and Arts of Singapore.

By the name of the library we roughly know that it is a library that specializing in the preservative and collection of literature and materials about the plants. The mission of many botanical and horticultural libraries is to make accessible and available to those who use it the information on this topic. This library is founded in 1875 in Singapore Botanic Gardens and it is one of the oldest specialized libraries in Southeast Asia.
