What is so special about Wan Tan Mee? You might say that this food is available everywhere not only in this town. Yes indeed, but this Wan Tan Mee is the bestselling in town also One Of The Must Eat Batu Pahat Food and it is a must try during your visit to this town. The fame! The Legend! Some local even ate it all time growing up.
So what is so special? Once in China, there was no soy sauce at all. Then, someone brilliant make it a brilliant way by brewing a highly versatile sauce. It actually became the HIT of the town! Many people started to take soy sauce for every meal no matter what they were eating.

10. Hawker Stalls @ Jalan Pengkai (贪吃街)
Jalan Pengkai is crowded every day at evening for its large variety of good local foods in Batu Pahat. There is two row of hawker stalls here. If there is a variety of foods, what is the local favourite you may ask? Here is the list of must eat lists for you. First of all, chicken rice at the first row by the left is very famous. Every batch of roasted chicken and steamed chicken is cooked just perfect, tender texture and their roasted pork belly is extremely crunchy. Homemade sauce and chilli increase the demand for it even higher.
Secondly, there is a Laksa stall located at second row by the right side. Their Laksa sold out in 3 hour upon opening. There is even a long queue before they open their stall.
If you are late for it, you have to come earlier on the next day. Laksa is considered as perfect specifically because only its broth. With their homemade sambal sauce, they do bring Laksa to the next level!
Last but not least, you can also take away some fried banana and fried glutinous rice cake for supper. Not even your children will be delighted, but also adult. That stall became famous because of its glutinous rice cake. It is fried by two piece on yam together with middle fillings of glutinous rice cake, crunchy at the outside with soft and sweet filling.

11. Long Ge Noodle House (龙哥黯然销魂面)
How spicy can you go for? The spiciness of this noodle here at Long Ge Noodle House will definitely blow your mind. This noodle house is located at old bus station of Batu Pahat. Mr. Long is so friendly and always joke and chat with his customers.
How it is served? No menu, only one dish is available. They serve instant noodles with an egg, fishballs, meatballs, vegetables, and the most important ingredients, their homemade hot sauce. Previously Mr. Long was working under construction and insurance field. He then realise that the homemade hot sauce is tasty with instant noodle, ending up selling this recipe to locals.
